Adega Cruceiro comes from the unheralded Ribiera Sacra appellation of Galicia. Ramon and his wife Puri make a couple thousand cases of wine each year along with their own chorizo, cheese and cured ham. The vineyards are planted to varietals indigenous to Galicia, mostly Mencia with patches of Merenzao and Albarello. The combination of the grapes produces a lovely, oil textured, medium-full bodied wine offering luscious cherry, raspberry and strawberry fruit, with spice, minerality and acid adding tremendous complexity and depth.
